A track inspired by a cold January visit to the Nagashima winter illuminations in Japan. A jazzy detroit house groove with a bit of broken funk thrown into the mix.. Ski was lucky enough to have the legends that are Milton Jackson and Simon Palmskin spread their magical house dust over the original mix...and also Ayota, who makes his remixing debut!
For Ski's second (and most recent) album 'Rising Son' in 2005, he teamed up with Bluey and DJ Venom to produce an intoxicating blend of classic Old skool house to Nu skool soul and uplifting funktronica. It features Amp Fiddler on 2 cuts, Chi Turner on 3 cuts, Tony Momrelle and Earl Zinger and Valerie Etienne. It was initially released in Japan on Pony Canyon and later worldwide on BBE.
Most of the pics are from the recording sessions of the 'Pushing Against The Flow' album in 1994. I remember bunking off a Galliano tour to be in NYC for 3 weeks. I got to meet Donald Fagen and of course Gary Katz who was producing the album.
