ski Welcome to the official Ski Oakenfull Website.
Ski is an Artist, Keyboard player, Producer, Remixer and Composer living in London. Having started his career with The K-Creative who were signed to Gilles Peterson's Talkin' Loud label in 1991, he has gone on to release three solo albums, Life Changes, Rising Son, and Short Circuits, play keyboards with bands such as Galliano, Raw Stylus & Two Banks of Four, remix over 50 tracks, and work at Xenomania. He currently releases music on his own label, Primaudial Records, writes & produces with artists such as Incognito, Dave Lee, Valerie Etienne, and Duke Dumont. He has an Ambient Electronic project called Ayota, and also makes regular radio shows. Alongside his production work, Ski holds the position of Head of Education & Curriculum at Point Blank Music School where he manages their degree programmes. He has also made over a hundred tutorial videos for the school's YouTube channel which have racked up over ten million views, and is an Ableton Certified Trainer. Ski Oakenfull Radio Show #15 with Tomokazu Hayashi - Medicine Compilation from the Deep Side of Japan

This show was recorded on Sunday the 9th of April 2023 with my good friend Tomokazu Hayashi in Tokyo on my recent trip to Japan.
The show is dedicated to the legendary Japanese musician, composer, and producer Ryuichi Sakamoto (坂本龍一) who passed away a week before the show was made, and is inspired by Haruomi Hosono's 'Medicine Compilation From The Quiet Lodge' album from 1993.
We hope that this show can provide some healing, and allow us to reflect on the incredible life and influence of Sakamoto san.
The photo was taken on the famous steps in Tokyo which inspired the anime 'Kimi no Na wa' (YourName, 君の名は)

New Ayota album 'Sound Travelling' released 6th April 2023

Primaudial Records are excited to announce the release of ‘Sound Travelling’ which is Ayota’s fourth album, and follows the 2015 release of ‘Floating Worlds’. Ski Oakenfull wrote and recorded the album over five years, and it features many field recordings from Japan, as well as collaborations with vocalists Chihiro Butterfly and Rei Usui.
