Welcome to the official Ski Oakenfull Website.
Ski is an Artist, Keyboard player, Producer, Remixer and Composer living in London. Having started his career with The K-Creative who were signed to Gilles Peterson's Talkin' Loud label in 1991, he has gone on to release three solo albums, Life Changes, Rising Son, and Short Circuits, play keyboards with bands such as Galliano, Raw Stylus & Two Banks of Four, remix over 50 tracks, and work at Xenomania. He currently releases music on his own label, Primaudial Records, writes & produces with artists such as Incognito, Dave Lee, Valerie Etienne, and Duke Dumont. He has an Ambient Electronic project called Ayota, and also makes regular radio shows. Alongside his production work, Ski holds the position of Head of Education & Curriculum at Point Blank Music School where he manages their degree programmes. He has also made over a hundred tutorial videos for the school's YouTube channel which have racked up over ten million views, and is an Ableton Certified Trainer. Ayota Release EP in Aid of Japanese Red Cross Tsunami Appeal

Japan is a very special place for me, where I have had some incredible experiences and been truly inspired by the people and culture. I have some very dear friends and close family from various parts of the country, so when I saw the shocking images of the Earthquake and Tsunami over a week ago, I was horrified. It was hard to imagine such a beautiful place being destroyed in such a short space of time. So in light of this event, Primaudial Records are releasing an EP from my Ambient Electronic project Ayota, featuring two brand new tracks. All proceeds of this release will go directly to the Japan Red Cross Tsunami Appeal.
You can purchase the EP NOW from Ski's Record Shop, or wait until 29 April 2011 to buy from iTunes, Traxsource, Beatport etc.

Ayota - Hitotsu played on BBC Radio 3 Late Junction

On 15th Feb 2011 Nick Luscombe began another fortnight in the Late Junction chair and featured the track 'Hitotsu' from my Ayota 'Helicopter Cuts' Album.

Ayota playing at Spitalfields Summer Music Festival

A night of live electronic music and visuals hosted by DJ and broadcaster Nick Luscombe (BBC Radio 3 Late Junction/Flomotion). Featuring performances from intergalactic synthesiser duo The Simonsound, the dubstep/Detroit House/ambient stylings of Subeena as well as Ski Oakenfull's project Ayota, with a special live audio visual performance that incorporates elements of time and sound shifting formed during Ski's extensive travels to Japan. Nick will be interviewing the musicians as well as providing DJs sets throughout the evening.

NRJ Radio Broadcast : Ski Live at Electro Deluxe - Le Fish Club in Lyon

I've just unearthed a gig I did on 6th October 2000 in France as part of my promotional tour for the 'Life Changes' album. The gig was at a club called 'Le Fish' which was basically a boat on the river in Lyon

The night was called 'Electro Deluxe' and it was broadcast live on NRJ Radio..

I've uploaded some photos of the gig here.

The band consisted of a 'power trio'...

Musicity London

I have recently been commissioned alongside six other artists to compose a piece of music in response to a building, location or aspect of London that inspired me. I chose the BT Tower. The idea is that you can visit these locations at specific times to exclusively hear and download the tracks through the Musicity App which will be available soon.
