I was so happy to hook up with my friend and fellow Herbie Hancock fan Tom O'Grady to indulge in over two and half hours of Herbie related music plucked from his personal vinyl collection. Tom and I first met when we played keyboards together in Kirk DeGeorgio's band 'The Beauty Room', and have stayed in close contact ever since.
Most recently we filmed a live deconstruction of 'Chameleon' for Point Blank Music School which you can check here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIR1O...

I hope you enjoy this selection as much as I did!

You can find out more about Tom's amazing band Resolution 88 here:

Enjoy over an hour of Disco indulgence with the one and only Valerie Etienne. I first met Val in 1994 when I joined the band Galliano to play keyboards, and we have maintained a close working relationship ever since. I set up my mobile studio in Val's kitchen and recorded this show on the 29th December 2016. You will notice several references to the Port she served throughout the show.
Happy New Year!

Thank you to Val for choosing so many great tracks!

Hosono in the 2010's – Roots music meets Techno

I am so happy to welcome back Tomokazu Hayashi for a second show! For this one, Tomo introduces Haruomi Hosono's recent musical development.
After having expanded on experimental and electronic musics such as Techno and Ambient in the 1980s and 90s, Hosono then drastically turned his head to roots and standard popular music from which he drew his deepest influence and was his musical foundation.
Hopefully you will find some astonishing encounters between roots music and techno!

Thank you to Tomo for his extensive research, words and artwork.
